Hi there!

I had some fun on a recent return to LA shooting this look. A go-to fashion staple of mine is the band tee, and my Tom Petty t-shirt pictured is a favorite of mine. It’s handmade (distressed) by Tasch NYC, a New York handmade all-woman company! I’ve blogged about them before in another 70s bell bottom, velvet platform, faux fur jacket look shot in Manhattan, where I featured her Janis Joplin tee.

I styled the t-shirt with my LoveShack Fancy eyelet skirt, small Parisian boutique combat boots which are exact Balmain dupes, and my beloved oldie-but-goodie Topshop faux fur teal jacket. My Gucci GG Marmont Velvet Shoulder Bag matches the coat so well, so I chose that to finish off the look!

Life’s too short not to have fun with fashion:)

Hi there!

This has been by far one of the prettiest New England autumns with the foliage and weather. I’ve been very inspired by cashmere and animal print so I wanted to post this look!

I found the black and cream cheetah print skirt at a small NY boutique but the brown and cream cheetah one on the last couple pictures is from Vici Dolls, and they have a very similar dark print one to the one I wore in the first few photos! My LiketoKnow.it account has some similar ones linked too!

I went with a tan cashmere sweater by Halogen from Nordstrom over the skirt that I slightly tucked in, and an oldie but goodie pair of Vince Camuto black and gold moto booties (now on sale)! I also styled the look with Vince Camuto grey heeled boots (mine aren’t available anymore so a similar one is linked here and on LiketoKnow.it). The faux fur black sleeveless vest is a Vera Wang for Kohls from some time ago, so I’ve linked a similar one:)

In the Vici Dolls brown and cream animal print look from the last couple photos I’m wearing a black Nordstrom brand turtleneck and an oldie but goodie grey suede moto jacket from Nordstrom by Vigoss. I’m wearing a small in everything and I’m 5’6” for reference. Check out this look-alike by Blank NYC!

If you guys ever have questions on brands or links message me either here or email me through my website as you’ve done before, or through my Instagram @carolinasantosread which is usually how I hear from you, and I love hearing from you!

I hope everyone is as excited for Halloween as I am! I’m off to Miami tomorrow for a vacation and work trip.

Hi there!

Continuing the vintage band tee trend (I love how versatile a great rock and roll band tee can be) we recently photographed another t-shirt from the TaschNYC vintage repurposed tee collection. This one was a Janis Joplin tee with custom heart cutout and studded detail in the back. All the tees have been custom redesigned in some way which I really love. I styled this with my Old Navy high-waisted Bell bottom jeans (a recent sale score!) and my Topshop teal faux fur jacket. Edit: this is not avail so I tagged a more recent one in another funky color (there are many colors avail)! I finished the look with my new Sam Edelman teal velvet platform sandals (later edit: when that one was sold out I added a more recent link here) and my YSL medium Kate bag. I felt right out of the 70s with this look; a little boho rock and roll vibe!

I also worked with TaschNYC in the past with some of their gorgeous dressy looks including a beaded purple dress I had a blast shooting in and walking the runway in. They have some fun casual wear as well as formal ladies clothing!

Hi there!

Last weekend was freezing but I wanted to still look cute for brunch so I paired some Spring and Winter trends with warm but fun pieces together for a cozy yet stylish look.

My new black bell sleeve crop top with cross cross detail by Nectar Clothing is more of a spring top so I layered it with a black tank underneath to keep warm. I styled it with a pair of black pleather jeans from Zara and my new H&M silver ankle booties! They are a steal at under $50 and look just like DVF ones I saw on the runways on fashion week.

I also layered on my oldie but goodie fave Topshop faux fur turquoise coat, turquoise Free People beanie and skull scarf for extra warmth.

Stay warm while we wait for Spring to hit the NYC streets! Stay tuned for next week's gala post and my black tie look as well as Francisco's for Francisco's Lincoln Center gala for Paul Taylor Dance Company.

Puffy Coat or Faux Fur?

Carolina Santos Read

Topshop faux fur turquoise coat, Aldo booties, and JCrew vegan leather skinnies styled with a vintage hat and Celine Nano Crossbody bag. Photography by Francisco Graciano.

 Hi there!

So in my last post I noted my belief that being warm doesn't have to be boring. This is why I want to lay out a few coat options for warm fun coats for this winter season that I'm having so much fun with in my closet right now!

In my look above you can see my Topshop turquoise blue faux fur coat. I feel like a rockstar in this coat when going out, and it's warm and fuzzy too. I paired it here with my JCrew vegan leather skinnies, favorite Aldo studded ankle booties, a vintage hat and scarf, and my Celine nano Crossbody bag in a burgundy red. Francisco and I took to the streets of Gowanus, Brooklyn to shoot against some graffiti that we thought spelled out what I felt like doing in this outfit quite literally!

On the LES of Manhattan in my Guess puffy coat, Free People scarf and Celine Nano Crossbody. Photography by Francisco Graciano.

In the photos above I'm wearing my new Guess puffy coat with faux fur trim on the hood. I styled it with my Celine Nano Crossbody bag, Free People new fluffy white scarf, my favorite booties, and my H&M boyfriend dress pants, as well as a red lip. I love the belt feature on this coat to cinch the waist while still providing a thick layer of warmth, and the faux fur trim makes it playful and more stylish instead of an average black standard puffy coat.

My new H&M faux fur with Valentino rock studs and Kate Spade purse.

This is a brand new H&M faux fur jacket I found on sale. It's a black with dark green mixed in. For a night on the town I'll pair it with vegan leather skinnies, my Valentino rock stud heels and matching Kate Spade red with cheetah print purse. This is a fun while staying warm alternative!
