Hi there!

I know it’s still cold out on the East Coast, but I’m looking ahead to warmer days in this gorgeous Free People polka dot billowy sleeved top! I love the mustard yellows I’m seeing and I think it has a 70s vintage feel with the bodace of the top being fitted and with a sweetheart neckline, so I tucked it into high waisted flares (my Old Navy ones I just can’t get enough of) and wore my new Nine West blue velvet gogo boots underneath (with an updated modern chunky heel we are seeing everywhere).

I completed the look with Betsey Johnson rose tinted sunnies vintage Chanel tote and Bloomies duffel as I was heading out of town on another trip (more on my Instagram and stories)!

I know we will see yellow, mustard, and vintage boho vibes everywhere this spring so however you choose to style it the key is to just have fun with it!

Hi there!

Continuing with the LA theme, while I was out there I styled another recent Free People top (called the “embroidered bell sleeve top” from Nordstrom that I just love! I’m wearing it with a studded ankle boot, Old Navy flares, and a suede moto jacket from Nordstrom by Vigoss. I finished the look with my Balenciaga Mini City crossbody purse. I always love Grand Central Market in downtown LA and it’s food options including an amazing breakfast place called “Eggslut.” I love LA!

There are so many fun boho looks everywhere right now, and even in the cold you can style the tops with layers;). Stay tuned for holiday looks next up!

Hi there!

Florals for fall are certainly not anything new, but this particular Free People dress (called the "Tree Swing Sleeveless Printed Top") in the cranberry color is such a fun piece that transitions from summer into fall.  Now that in New York the temperatures are starting to cool down a little, I paired it in my look above with my Gap plum colored ankle tie espadrille wedges (an oldie but goodie from years ago) for a warm daytime look, and at night I threw on my black leather motorcycle jacket from Bebe (another oldie but goodie from years ago that gets better with age) for some warmth.  I can't wait to layer it this fall with leggings or over the knee boots and a jacket and scarf!

I have to let you in on a little secret.  I usually shop at my neighborhood Free People Upper East Side location or online, but I snagged this dress at Nordstrom Rack on sale and paid a third of the price while this dress is still full price in store! Major score.  So if you're interested in it look there too as well as on the website/in stores.

As always I am a proud Free People (FPMe) girl.  Find me on the Free People app as "Lina7" to check out other ways I've styled Free People looks that may not be on the blog.  Check back with me next week to see a Free People Movement line top and accessories I purchased after attending a Movement is Free event in SoHo with yoga, juices, the debut of their skincare line, and some new FP Movement pieces for us to shop.

Xoxo,

Carolina

Here's a look at the details of the dress so you can see the clasp at the clavicle and the purple and green within the floral pattern.

Tartan and Holiday Nails

Wearing the maxi tartan "Venitia Dress" by Free People, Aldo studded booties, Rebecca Minkoff fringe purse, and Urban Outfitters sweater and beanie.  Photography by Francisco Graciano.

Hi there!

When I think of the holidays what comes to mind is not only glitter, sparkle, and metallics but also tartan.  You know, that beautiful old-school English Ralph Lauren version of plaid that can be either worn edgy or preppy.  In my photo above I styled the beautiful Venitia Dress by Free People with Aldo studded black ankle booties, my Rebecca Minkoff fringe purse, and Urban Outfitters sweater and beanie for a bit of an edgier feel. I love this dress not only for its maxi length but the back and front are deep Vs, and styled with my hair up and maybe a black sequin blazer and heels makes it the perfect outfit choice for a holiday party!

Another way to do plaid I really love is in a buttoned up oxford shirt worn tucked into skinny jeans and with ankle or high boots.  Top it off with a blazer and you have a preppy put together outfit! I am also into a little bow under the buttoned up collar for a feminine touch to a masculine look. Additionally, playing with texture is always fun with plaid. Sometimes I wear my tartan oxford with a sequined mini skirt and tights, or with vegan leather pants.

Holiday nail art option number two, also by Absolutta Esmalteria in Socorro, SP Brazil

Red nails are always a classic for Christmas! New gold moccasin slippers by JCrew factory.

These three holiday nail options pictured above are some of my favorites lately.  In the first photo you'll see a fuchsia nail with gold glitter french manicure accents and a gold glitter statement nail, which I came up with to match my pink and gold look for my cousins' wedding in Brazil last month (see last post for outfit details). In the second photo I went with a lilac nail and cheetah-print statement nail art, and in the third photo you'll see a traditional red nail with my Starbucks and new JCrew factory gold moccasin slippers.

All three ideas are fun for the holidays and parties, so I'd say go for your design and have fun with it to show off your personality and festive spirit! Happy Holidays everyone from my family to yours.
