Hi there!

Isn’t Cinque Terre stunning? Take me back! I wore this gorgeous free people set out to dinner that is right on trend as a two piece and with a ruffle skirt and top. It’s called the “Petal Set” and I got it on sale! Check it out on Free People’s website. I styled it with my Sam Edelman gorgeous bow tie mustard heels from last year, and messy wavy beach hair since we were on the Italian coast and I was feeling mermaid hair!

Happy Summer and happy summer outfits (my fave time to pick out clothes).

Hi there!

I’ve been loving playing with styles (as usual) and having some fun while running around Los Angeles, and this current Free People gypsy wrap skirt is one of my favorites right now! I paired it with my Givenchy-esque combat boots and my Ralph Lauren military jacket. I like to call it Sarge & Pepper meets pirate;)

Never fear making fun mix & match decisions with fashion! Happy New Year 🎊

Hi there!

I hope everyone is having a great holiday long weekend or at least a day off:). I celebrated at the beach today (see my stories) and took a lot of time off in June to be with my family in Connecticut.

This is one of my favorite looks right now: the tie back on this gorgeous Celestial collection from Spell Designs (this is the Celestial Mini Dress) is my favorite along with the pleated skirt and ruffle collar. I paired it with my fave Free People star ankle boots and an oldie but goodie Chanel. I’ll be wearing this look into fall because the star pattern and color are so much fun, and I can wear it with a blazer or moto jacket when it gets colder.

Spell Designs’ boho looks always get it right for me, which makes them one of my all time fave brands. Also I’ve only had one issue with making an exchange because of sizing and their customer service team couldn’t be more accommodating and a dream to work with.  Even though they are an Aussie brand they have a US online store and are carried at many boutiques as well.

Hi there!

The nice weather has finally come to the East Coast! I might have taken these photos in Miami recently, but I will surely be wearing this look on MDW.

These cute little high-waisted cherry shorts by Aqua (purchased at Bloomingdales) are so much fun with my oldie but goodie Free People off the shoulder eyelet top, and Chanel red patent leather flats as well as my favorite straw bag with Pom Pom I got from the Moroccan imports store in Chelsea Market in NYC.  I finished out the look with my brand new Gucci shades!

I always like to wear looks that have a hint of Americana (be on the lookout for next week’s blue and white striped dress that is also perfect for Summertime, is right on trend, and also has the Americana vibe) for this festive weekend. This cherry look is white and red and I didn’t wear blue but you can always go full Americana and preppy for this holidays weekend!

In my Free People for Nordstrom yellow dress and oldie but goodie Arezzo wedges from Brazil while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Hi there!

I just got back from a beautiful resort vacation and it’s now Spring (ignoring our current snowstorm situation haha). Naturally every Spring I look forward to Spring dresses and this Free People dress for Nordstrom is gorgeous and right on trend.  It’s also on sale since I got it!

I’m currently loving the feminine silhouette of an off the shoulder dress and bell sleeves and this dress combines both. With the rouched fabric at the waist and sleeves it also gives a beautiful silhouette in the waistline, coming out with a billowy skirt. I frolicked around in Mexico in it and can’t wait to wear it this Spring into Summer!

Wearing my Free People Be My Lover Printed Top, Old Navy Flares, Nine West blue velvet booties, and Betsey Johnson sunnies, plus my vintage Chanel tote and Bloomingdales duffel bag! Photographed in the East Village.

Hi there!

I know it’s still cold out on the East Coast, but I’m looking ahead to warmer days in this gorgeous Free People polka dot billowy sleeved top! I love the mustard yellows I’m seeing and I think it has a 70s vintage feel with the bodace of the top being fitted and with a sweetheart neckline, so I tucked it into high waisted flares (my Old Navy ones I just can’t get enough of) and wore my new Nine West blue velvet gogo boots underneath (with an updated modern chunky heel we are seeing everywhere).

I completed the look with Betsey Johnson rose tinted sunnies vintage Chanel tote and Bloomies duffel as I was heading out of town on another trip (more on my Instagram and stories)!

I know we will see yellow, mustard, and vintage boho vibes everywhere this spring so however you choose to style it the key is to just have fun with it!

Hi there!

Continuing with the LA theme, while I was out there I styled another recent Free People top (called the “embroidered bell sleeve top” from Nordstrom that I just love! I’m wearing it with a studded ankle boot, Old Navy flares, and a suede moto jacket from Nordstrom by Vigoss. I finished the look with my Balenciaga Mini City crossbody purse. I always love Grand Central Market in downtown LA and it’s food options including an amazing breakfast place called “Eggslut.” I love LA!

There are so many fun boho looks everywhere right now, and even in the cold you can style the tops with layers;). Stay tuned for holiday looks next up!

Hi there!

I'm so sorry for the delay, I've been working on a musical (West Side Story) on the Connecticut shoreline both as performer and dance captain so I've been completely overwhelmed with that lately!

I was recently in Europe on vacation and wanted to take the next few posts as a style and travel blog of my looks in the cities I visited. In this Parisian look I tried to embody the classic Parisian laid back chic with some up to date trends like embroidery, ripped pants, and the loafer mule Gucci has made so popular.

I styled a casual Free People embroidered floral black and blue top with a black H&M ripped skinny jean and my recently gifted Aldo loafer mules that I have been living in! I finished the look with my Ray Bans and my Celine Nano Luggage Tote (check out my Poshmark store I've listed my Celine to sell recently as I'm currently downsizing my wardrobe a bit)!

Mules were super comfortable to sightsee and go to the museums in, and have a cappuccino and croissant on the street... man I love Paris!

Stay tuned for another Paris look next before we venture to Positano then Capri on the Amalfi coast of Italy!

Beachy Boho Free People

Carolina Santos Read

Hi there!

This is the last of my worn in Mexico while on Spring Break resort series, brought to you by this lovely Free People top, a new Poshmark score as well as the gold Jack Rogers wedges I styled it with. I also finished the look with an oldie but goodie pair of H&M lacy shorts.

Billowy boho tops like these as well as metallics and lace are super on trend for Spring, but frankly will never go out of style either. I love how this look can also transition effortless from day into night and has a beachy effortless chic to it.

Have you checked out PoshMark to either re-sell gently worn or new clothing and accessories or to buy? I absolutely love it! I recently attended the "PoshNation" fest in New York where I met the CEO and PR team who are lovely and fellow poshers. It's a great community and a lot of fun not to mention an easy way to resell and downsize you closet to make room for new fashion. Find me on there as "PoshLina7."

Tartan and Holiday Nails

Carolina Santos Read

Wearing the maxi tartan "Venitia Dress" by Free People, Aldo studded booties, Rebecca Minkoff fringe purse, and Urban Outfitters sweater and beanie.  Photography by Francisco Graciano.

Hi there!

When I think of the holidays what comes to mind is not only glitter, sparkle, and metallics but also tartan.  You know, that beautiful old-school English Ralph Lauren version of plaid that can be either worn edgy or preppy.  In my photo above I styled the beautiful Venitia Dress by Free People with Aldo studded black ankle booties, my Rebecca Minkoff fringe purse, and Urban Outfitters sweater and beanie for a bit of an edgier feel. I love this dress not only for its maxi length but the back and front are deep Vs, and styled with my hair up and maybe a black sequin blazer and heels makes it the perfect outfit choice for a holiday party!

Another way to do plaid I really love is in a buttoned up oxford shirt worn tucked into skinny jeans and with ankle or high boots.  Top it off with a blazer and you have a preppy put together outfit! I am also into a little bow under the buttoned up collar for a feminine touch to a masculine look. Additionally, playing with texture is always fun with plaid. Sometimes I wear my tartan oxford with a sequined mini skirt and tights, or with vegan leather pants.

Holiday nail art option number two, also by Absolutta Esmalteria in Socorro, SP Brazil

Red nails are always a classic for Christmas! New gold moccasin slippers by JCrew factory.

These three holiday nail options pictured above are some of my favorites lately.  In the first photo you'll see a fuchsia nail with gold glitter french manicure accents and a gold glitter statement nail, which I came up with to match my pink and gold look for my cousins' wedding in Brazil last month (see last post for outfit details). In the second photo I went with a lilac nail and cheetah-print statement nail art, and in the third photo you'll see a traditional red nail with my Starbucks and new JCrew factory gold moccasin slippers.

All three ideas are fun for the holidays and parties, so I'd say go for your design and have fun with it to show off your personality and festive spirit! Happy Holidays everyone from my family to yours.

Hi there!

For today's blog entry I wanted to talk about how much I love Free People.  Free People is a clothing store chain that to me captures the essence of the style I love.  They combine rock and roll with festival and traditional hippie fashion that can either be rough around the edges or girly.  It's not too fussy or contrived, and the pieces I buy from Free People I find to be timeless.  Check out my Free People Me (#FPMe) account under Lina7, where I've styled a lot of other Free People pieces in my wardrobe.  The fact that this brand allows for consumers who may or may not be bloggers or stylists to style their FP wardrobe and post on the FPMe app is genius.  There you can see how other people styled the pieces you are wanting to purchase and get ideas about fit and styling beforehand.  Free People also holds events for Free People Me stylists a few times a year.  I've been invited to rooftop dinners, yoga sessions, and scored dress benefits.  You guys seriously rock.

If you look at my images above you'll see a few "oldy but goodie" favorites.  The first image has some Free People harem/slouchy pants (called "The Drifter Pant") that I wear day to day or to dance class or yoga styled with my Aldo studded booties, Free People baggy white top, and my Zara blush vegan leather jacket I talked about in my last post.  I finished the look with my hair naturally curly, a berry lip and cat eye, and an old Urban Outfitters black beanie that is a fave of mine once it starts to get colder.  My quilted chain strap Chanel is a classic and goes with any outfit. The Free People pieces in that outfit are versatile from the yoga room or dance floor to a casual stylish day look.

The second two photos include my Free People floral corduroys from last year (their actual name is the "FP Printed Cord Skinny") that I will be re-wearing this season styled above with the same Aldo booties and Free People top. I completed the look with my natural curly hair and my Rebecca Minkoff fringe black cross body bag I scored at last year's sample sale.  This outfit is casual and comfortable with a bohemian and slightly edgy vibe that I just love.

Did you know Free People is the same company as Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie? Well now you do.  All 3 of those stores have a similar aesthetic but a slightly different target demographic.  Anthro and Urban have insanely beautiful stuff too, and Anthropologie has some great sales.  I'm currently eyeing a coat at Anthropologie!

Another fall nail art trend for my recent print shoot.  Nails by Marie Nails (Nolita location), photography by Prime Content Studio NYC.

In the above two photos you'll see a couple of fall nail art trends that were seen on the fall runways this year.  The former of the two photos is a spin on the black and gold as well as glitter trends (I am obsessed with the detail in the leaf nail, they are wizards at Marie Nails).  The latter photo is a spin on the paint trend as well as red and black seen on runways such as Desigual (the Barcelona designer famous for mixing things up).  Which one's your favorite? They are both gel nails with nail art design, and they lasted a really long time.  My favorite was the black and gold because I had never had studs on my nails before, and I absolutely loved how it looked.
