Hi there!

It’s that resort time of year in the dead of winter where we dream of being on a beach. Whether you’re going somewhere warm (really looking forward to Mexico in March with my fiancé my brother and his fiancé) or just want to look ahead to spring looks, I put together this look that was so much fun to wear!

This one shoulder (and one long sleeve) bodysuit is by Farm Rio one of my favorite stores from Brazil that you can now shop online for in the US. I’ve blogged about some of their pieces before that I love. This was on sale, and they have lots of tropical prints in line with their Brazilian roots. I loved that it has “caju” on it which is the fruit where the cashew nut grows on. I styled it with a pair of orange belted Vici Dolls shorts and some espadrilles I bought in Italy last Spring. A side braid is always a good option in the humid climate too, since my waves get a little frizzy! I was in Miami last November where we took these photos.

Happy Resort season!

Hi there!

I’m missing my Mexico resort vacation and wanted to share my favorite brand of the moment: Spell Designs (Spell and the Gypsy) whom I’ve blogged about before but my recent Flamingo Blossom Bikini set was so much fun to wear with my Sayulita frill shorts and Sayulita top! All can be found on their site. I wore the top and shorts on Sayulita beach in Mexico as well which I thought was perfectly fitting!

Happy resort season and Easter babes!

Hi there!

If you follow my blog IG @carolinasantosread you might remember one of my Spring/Summer NYFW inspirations from the Altuzarra (and others) runway involved the citrus fruit trend for Spring 2017. There's something very Italian about this trend and I wanted to feature it in a resort segment.

The look above is from DressLilly.com and is a complete steal under 20 bucks! Definitely the look for less. I love a two piece like this that can be worn separately or together, but there are so many other ways to wear this trend such as on a top, dress, or just the accessories like a lemon earring with a red dress. It makes me want to cruise up the Amalfi coast in Italy. It's fun, flirty, and fresh instead of just bright colors and florals for Spring. I accessorized it with Jack Rogers sandals and Celine bag.

I'm currently in Austin, TX on a girls trip and will be blogging some more resortwear next, but of a more Western variety. Stay tuned!

Hi there!

Coming out of resort wear season and right into end of Spring / early Summer means sporting a cute sun dress. My favorite wardrobe staple sun dress is a white lacy number that you can accessorize with.

In this look (my dress is Express so it was a steal) I pair my white lacy halter dress with my Mexico tan, a great nude wedge (I went with my Arezzo ones from Brazil recently)  with nude handmade clutch and a gold shell earring (both from a boutique in Brazil). I also paired a boho colorful robe (also a steal from Forever21!!) over the dress to add color and texture and a tropical vibe since I was vacationing at a resort in a Puerto Vallarta, and at night on the marina there can be a little breeze.

A white dress for summer can transition from the beach to going out at night, and you can't go wrong with a neutral palette, it matches absolutely everything. Add on your accessories to style it your way and have a little more fun with it. The best part about a tan is you need little to no makeup because to me natural beauty is so much more beautiful than an overly done-up face. I do love to play with makeup, but a beachy look is effortlessly beautiful and it requires less maintenance. For example my new lip obsession is the Burts Bees tinted lipstick line. It moisturizes with just a hint of color and leaves your lips soft. That and a pair of sunnies (with plenty of sunscreen) is all you need on your face at the beach!

Happy Spring:)
